They work!!

 January 18, 2009
By Mary Margaret O'Hanahan

I was very hesitant about purchasing these because I thought, "How could they possibly work for everyone, regardless of eyeglass prescription?" Well, amazingly enough, they do work. I was having a terrible time seeing my computer screen with my bifocals. Craning my neck backward to read the screen was causing a real pain in the neck! When I put these on, everything became clear. One of my co-workers tried them with her prescription glasses and they worked great for her as well. When I get up from the computer, I just take them off and I already have on my day-to-day specs. I love these so much that I purchased a second pair so I could have one pair for work and one pair for home. This is a wonderful and inexpensive alternative to special prescription computer glasses.

GREAT IDEA and PRODUCT

This is a GREAT product! From the first moment I tried them on, while in front of my computer display, I could feel the relief from eyestrain and I physically felt my eyes relax and the visual clarity appear. As I type this, I am wearing them and just LOVE THEM!! I was considering spending hundreds of dollars for "Computer glasses" but I don't need to do that now. I also am an accomplished pianist, church organist, and music teacher and I just place the PC peekers on my glasses and I don't have to strain my neck UP to view the music with my bifocals because NOW I can have my normal neck posture to read the music -- even the organ music, which is placed higher than on a piano. The only thing I would wish is that they came in a HARD CASE to protect them in my purse. They come with a 7 inch open vinyl case. I have written the manufacturers to suggest just that. LOVE 'EM !!

Perfect but not for the fashion conscious.

These glasses are just wonderful. They're really not a pair of traditional glasses. They're just a piece of plastic that aides the top part of your bifocals to be of the same strength as the lower part. You just slipped them on top of your glasses between your eyes and your glasses. They can do this b/c their winged platform ends rest on top of the temples of your glasses. Now you don't have to tilt your head back and keep looking out of the bottom of your bifocals. You can look out the top part at your computer screen or sheet music or whatever close up work you need to do just like normal. B/c they are plastic they're very light weight. You almost don't feel the weight of 'em. However there is a little drawback to using them straight out of the box. B/c they're so light weight you can easily knock them off your glasses if you hit your glasses too hard when you try to push them back up your nose b/c they slid down too far. But this can be easily remedied. Along with the glasses comes a piece of literature that offers to sell you some specially made adhesive pads or something so they'll stay affixed to your glasses unless you intentionally remove them or have some violent impact or something. Anyway since they're not traditional glasses the fashioned conscious might not want to wear them out in public.

Good idea

These were recommended by my eye doctor for reducing strain while working on the computer.
I only gave this product a 4 star rating because the plastic they are made of is difficult to
clean without smearing and smudging. Since the peekers are removed and replaced fairly frequently,
the smudging is an issue. I would be willing to pay a little more for the use of a higher
quality plastic with a clearer focus.

All in all, though, these do the task for which they were purchased.

They work great!

I have been using these at work for a week now, and I love them. My work computer monitors are at a distance just outside or my arms' reach, and it's a distance too far for me to see without glasses (especially when reading text), but a bit too close to focus with my distant glasses on (I'm near-sighted and also beginning to develop presbyopia). Before the PC Peekers I usually have to sit in front of the monitors for a few minutes to wait for the screen to come into focus - and it's taking longer and longer. But the minute I put these on I can see everything perfectly! I also found that I don't need to take my glasses off to read paper reports, notes...etc. Now I won't have to get a pair of prescription glasses just for computer use, which will cost a lot more!

Two sets of silicone sticky pads are provided. You attach them to the underside of the "wings" so they would cling on to your glasses. They work just fine with my thin wire frames, although I feel the wings stick out too far on the side (I may shorten the "wings" to make them look less conspicuous). Even though it's lightweight (compared to clip on sunglasses, for example), it does add a bit of weight to the glasses, which becomes noticeable at the end of the day. I imagine with continuous use I will get used to them.

I don't know how long the silicone pads will stay sticky, but when I first got them I used a little rubber cement on the "wings" so I can put them on without using the pads, just in case I decide to return them. This works very well so this is what I will do if and when the sticky pads stop working.

For about $18 (from Walmart) this is a great product. If you can find them at a store locally, it's definitely worth getting a pair to try.

These glasses have made a dramatic difference to my computer use. I am a 53 year-old bifocal wearer, and I was having a very hard time seeing the writing on my computer screen. Now, no more craning of the neck, no more squinting - indeed, they have become indispensable. I have two - one for the office, one for home. One issue that has emerged over time though - the plastic lenses tends to get permanently "marked" by constant cleaning - with the result that one of my glasses is somewhat fogged up.

My expensive ergonomic chair wasn't working for me because I had to lean forward to view my computer monitor. I was considering having a pair of single vision glasses made just for computer use, but I found these for a fraction of the cost. As soon as I put the PC Peekers on, I said out loud "wow, these things are great". They are so easy to put on and take off that I can leave them at the computer.

I thought it was a joke at first, but I was having so much trouble seeing the computer screen clearly with my progressive lenses that I thought I would try them anyway. Wow! It does take a little getting used to, and the "what the heck are those" from co-workers but they work! I have one I keep at the office and one I keep at home. This is much less expensive than a pair of computer glasses. These are worth it!

They do what they're supose to do. I bought mine at walmart for about the same price, I use them with my monitor I have hooked up to my xbox. (Gives me the edge when snnipers are trying to sneak around from afar) The only hang up one may have is that they seem to scratch easy. I haven't dropped them or anything but cleaning with a t-shirt over the past week has left some lights marks on them, using a proper cleaning cloth would probably save that trouble.

You need these!

You need them if you are getting on a bit in years! Have made the total difference between squinting at the computer screen or sitting too far back to reach the keyboard! Have recommended to many friends who are very satisfied. I bought my first pair at an eyeglass shop, but now they are available on Amazon.
