Just about perfect.

Each wipe is in a foil-lined wrapping, which makes them last longer because they don't dry out from sitting around. That's a nice touch.

It has to be remembered that these are WIPES...not wash-cloths. You take one out, give a wipe, and you're done. The wipe doesn't last any longer than that. If you expect more, then your expectations are unrealistic.

The box says "High-tech ammonia-free formula", so who knows what's actually in there. It's pretty clear that on my multi-coated filters, the wipe's solution hasn't damaged the coating, so I'd say it's plastic-safe. It probably is, or is a variant of, electronic contact cleaner, which removes grease, dries without residue, and is plastic-safe. I also use the wipe to clean spill-droplets off of my computer monitor (I'm a messy eater and it's a 30" monitor...lots of area to catch flying debris!) These clean the soft LCD without any problems.

I find that for lenses and filters, it's best to practice a motion that gets the entire lens as quickly as possible. Get the wipe off while it's still wet, and let the solution evaporate off.

I hate making waste, but I tried a lens microfiber-cloth once and it doesn't work. I was at the Grand Canyon and my lens was dusty. I wipe off the lens with the micro-cloth, and the lens looked like I hadn't touched it. So much for microfiber-cloths.

Oh, for dust on your lens, remember to follow the instructions on the packet..."lightly brush away dust and dirt with the folded wipe." Then you unfold and clean. Don't wipe dust into your lens.

Recommended.

Works well once you Understand What it's Doing.

The first time (or even second time) you use these wipes expect a bit of smearing. What it appears this wipe is doing is removing old residue from whatever previous cleaner you used. Once you get the old muck off your lenses these wipes will keep the optics perfectly clean.

Cleans very well and leaves no residue.

When I got the wipes, I first tried them on my glasses and my glasses are the cleanest I've ever been able to get them, crystal clear. I then tried them on my MacBook Pro screen and the same is true. No smudges nor scratches nor residue. The instructions say to first lightly brush the lenses with the closed pad to remove any grit (the dampness removes it), then open the pad and clean the lenses. They do dry quicker than other products but I think this is an advantage. With other products, you tend to put too much cleaner on the lenses and then rub and rub to dry them and get the smudges out. These Zeiss wipes dry out relatively quickly, smudge free, so that all the extra rubbing is avoided reducing wear and tear.

Lens Cleaning Wipes

These glass-cleaning wipes are perfect. I will be straight and to the point:

* They are sanitary as they are individually wrapped.

* They are just the right size - not too big and not too small.

* They have the perfect amount of moisture. Enough to clean the glasses, but not so much that you have to dry off the glasses. What I am trying to say is, it is enough moisture to clean the glasses, but then it self-dries.

* They perfectly clean the glasses. (Perfectly do the job.)

* They are perfectly made for glasses, lenses, etc., and will not scratch. Never use tissue on glasses, as that will scratch them.

* They are small, convenient, easy-to-carry; therefore, leave some at home, and take some to work.

* They are priceless (I couldn't do without them), but they are very reasonably priced.

* They are not only good for eye glasses, but also good for CDs, computer screens, camera lenses, etc.

Perfect, awesome, couldn't live without them.

Does the job.

I had been using the Bausch & Lomb Sight Savers Premoistened Lens Cleaning Tissues - 100 Count, 2 pk. for some time as was happy with them, but saw the Zeiss wipes were significantly cheaper (at the time) so I gave them a try. I'm just as happy with them. Very little, if any, difference between the two. It looks like now the price difference is not as significant as it was before, so in the future I'll probably just order whichever is cheaper.

Works but takes some finesse

These wipes do indeed work as advertised, but it takes a few tries to get the hang of using them properly at first. In particular, skin oil on glasses lenses is a bit tricky to remove as the wipe has a tendency to smear it around rather than picking it up. The wipes are indeed fairly wet but they dry out quickly. (No clue what's in the solution other than isopropanol.)

For glasses, they are not better than a bottle of glasses cleaner and a clean cloth (e.g. microfiber) known not to scratch your lenses. I find these wipes most useful on the go, when I don't want to carry around a bottle of some chemical and a real cloth.

Have been using this for years and love it!

I got this from Walmart a few years ago and have been using it on our LCD TV. I have two kids who inevitably touch the TV (especially during Dora) so there are usually little hand prints and smudges accross the screen and it really irritates me. Recently, I was almost out of these wipes and couldn't find it at the local store (we moved and are much further away from Walmart now). So I got the Windex lens cleaning wipes - it was horrible! Left so much residue and streaks. I have never seen the screen look this bad! I'm so glad to find the Zeiss wipes on Amazon.

My only complaint about Zeiss wipes is that they are small and I usually use 2-3 at a time. It dries very quickly while cleaning and even more so if the TV has been on and the screen is warm. So I usually clean when the TV has been off for a while.

Great product

These lens wipes are great! I couldn't find a way to get my glasses as clean as I would like. Just one of these wipes solved that problem.
